Isla

Isla sends you to a mysterious island to map unexplored ground, catalogue rare species and deal with the Keepers who guard its secrets. The clever twist is dice exhaustion: every action tires your dice, so planning an efficient route matters as much as knowing where you want to go. A medium light strategy game that suits solo players, couples and small groups, and a good step up for anyone ready for something meatier than a family filler. Key details: • Players: 1 to 5 • Age: 8+ • Play time: 30 to 45 minutes • Publisher: Ocean City Games, 2025. Complexity: medium light • Contents: rulebook, 100 double sided maps, 80 tokens, 5 polyhedral dice, 5 wooden explorer pieces and 1 wooden Keeper piece • 38 research cards, 35 threat cards, 1 first player card and 4 solo mode Keeper cards On a turn you might push across a cliff face to reach a new map tile, spend a die to research a species you have found, or rest to recover before the threats catch up. In the solo game the Keepers act as automated rivals, patrolling the island and forcing you to work around them. Buy Isla online from Cookes Games and set off on your own expedition.
