Marston chess pieces: Staunton style in double-weighted natural and black boxwood

The Marston chess pieces from Philos are a Staunton-pattern set turned in natural and black boxwood, double weighted for a satisfying heft and finished with felted bases that glide quietly across the board. Each set comes packed in a wooden presentation box. They are a solid choice for club players who want tournament-standard weight, and a handsome gift for anyone upgrading from a plastic set. Choose your presentation box from the drop-down: natural finish plywood or sheesham. Key details: • Style: Staunton pattern • Wood: natural and black boxwood • Weighting: double weighted, with felted bases • Box options: natural finish plywood or sheesham presentation box • Chess board not included • Brand: Philos Weighted Staunton pieces stay put when the game gets quick, and the contrast between the pale natural side and the deep black side is easy to read at a glance. Pair them with a board whose squares suit the king's base and they will look at home on any table, then lift the lid of the box and put them away between games.
